Acewood Park

Family fun abounds at this east-side park located at 1402 Acewood Boulevard. Open 4 a.m. – 10 p.m., this small park is just 4.25 acres, perfect for small gatherings or anyone looking for some of the best playground equipment in Madison. Keep in mind that there are no restroom facilities at Acewood, but the park is conveniently located in a thriving neighborhood with a number of public facilities nearby on Buckeye Road and Cottage Grove Road.

Here, you’ll find well-kempt basketball courts, a picnic shelter perfect for birthday parties and gatherings, and a maintained dog on-leash area. If you’re traveling with your four-legged friend, Acewood Park is the perfect destination for a little play time, featuring a sprawling open field.

Well Played

The star of Acewood is the impressive playground equipment. Featuring a twisty slide, plenty of climbing areas, arching ladders and innovative monkey bars, it’s a favorite for families looking to blow off excess energy before heading to one of Madison’s many family-friendly destinations, from restaurants to museums.

Pack a picnic lunch (or ask a local eatery to do it for you!) and dine al fresco at the covered picnic areas. Madison has a number of quality parks peppering the city, and Acewood is a real gem that’s never crowded.
